Why have I created yet another site for keto information when there is so much information already out there? It’s because I couldn’t find what I wanted which is information for those of us who are of Asian descent and want to try and adopt a ketogenic diet. For those of you who like me are use to eating rice, noodles and dumplings and want more information about how to be keto when eating out or eating in, this site is for you.
My Story
Who am I? My name is Yvonne and I started a ketogenic diet in November 2018 and set up this site on Christmas Day of 2018… exactly 4 weeks after I started on eating ‘keto’.
Whilst losing weight is a goal the main thing is that everything I’ve been reading, listening to (Podcasts) and watching on YouTube seems to lead to a ketogenic diet. I started on this path of foodtard-ness when my mother got cancer. She’s in remission but researching ways on which should could try and ‘cure’ her cancer naturally has put me on a path of trying to prevent cancer. Statistics show that I am almost guaranteed to get cancer as my dad got cancer when I was very young and passed away from it. With my mum diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2010 and also suffering from diabetes I started my journey of reading up and trying to understand more natural ways of prevention of these diseases. Being overweight didn’t help either. Through the years I’ve been adding things like ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) and intermittent fasting (5:2) for various reasons. Keto is my latest experiment.
I live in Sydney, Australia and was born in Hong Kong and am of Chinese descent but have lived in Australia since I was 2 years old. This site will reflect my Asian heritage but also my Westernisation.
My hope is that you will find some of this information useful. Worse case is that I can use it as my own reference and guide as I find out more information.
What’s the expression I’ve been seeing recently? KCKO – Keep Calm and Keto On.
